Self Care
I live in North Vancouver Island which has the highest cougar population in the world. They have been a theme for over the past year around my community, and the topic was always one of stress. So I was moved to create a painting in a non-threatening context. Here the cougar is simply having some downtime and is not the eating machine that we often imagine it to be. They are just doing their best to survive and live well. This painting was created on watercolour paper measuring approximately 16 x 20 inches. It was made with acrylic inks and paints, acrylic markers, and water-based pastels. It is shipped unmatted and unframed for ease of shipping and to allow you to frame to your liking. If you prefer an economical framing option, Ikea has a matte, frame, plexiglass covering combo that fits this size painting. The painting ships rolled in a tube and will require flattening with heavy books or similar weights upon arrival.
